Cut-off Time
زمان قطع / زمان مجاز عبور
A race time barrier requiring participants to leave a specified checkpoint or aid station before a stated time in order to be allowed to continue.
Definition
A cut-off time is an official time barrier used in endurance events. UTMB 2026 regulations state that cut-off times are set for leaving main checkpoints or aid stations and are calculated to allow participants to reach the finish within the event time limit. To continue the race, participants must leave the checkpoint before the cut-off time, regardless of when they arrived there.
Practical use
Plan race pacing and aid-station stops around departure cut-offs, not only arrival times. Check the specific event’s current regulations because cut-off times are race-specific and may be updated under exceptional conditions.
