Accelerometer
شتابسنج
A sensor that measures linear acceleration and is used to detect movement, steps, cadence and other motion patterns.
Definition
A sensor that measures linear acceleration and is used to detect movement, steps, cadence and other motion patterns. Consumer wearable and positioning metrics are estimates produced by sensors, signal processing and device-specific algorithms. Accuracy can vary with movement, environment, sensor placement, skin contact and the metric being estimated, so values from different devices are not automatically interchangeable.
Practical use
Treat wearable outputs as estimates unless the metric is directly measured; compare trends using the same device and conditions when possible. Use trends from the same device and measurement setup when possible; for clinical or high-stakes decisions, use an appropriate validated reference method.
