Hamstring Strain
کشیدگی همسترینگ
A strain injury affecting one or more hamstring muscles, usually during high-speed running or lengthening load.
Definition
A strain injury affecting one or more hamstring muscles, usually during high-speed running or lengthening load. The label describes a clinical condition or injury pattern, but symptoms can overlap with other diagnoses. History, physical examination and—when indicated—imaging or other testing are needed to determine the cause and severity for an individual athlete.
Practical use
This definition is educational, not diagnostic; persistent, severe or worsening symptoms should be assessed by a qualified clinician. Persistent pain, major swelling, inability to bear weight/use the limb, neurological symptoms, deformity or sudden loss of function should be assessed by an appropriate health professional rather than self-diagnosed from the glossary.
